Family Social Events

Autism York hosts a variety of autism friendly, family social events. The goal of our Family Social Events is to build a sense of community and to offer an opportunity for connection among our attendees. Events such as morning at the movies, swim parties, mini-golf outings, and much more are offered FREE or low cost to individuals with autism and their immediate family.

Adult Autism Meet-Up Group

The Adult Autism Meet-Up Group meets monthly September – May. This group provides an opportunity for older teens and adults (age 18 and up) with autism to meet for support, self-advocacy, networking, conversation, and fun. We meet at a different location each month for dinner, dessert or a social activity, such as mini golfing, bowling, or snow tubing. These events are free or low cost for individuals with autism and one guest.

Teen Autism Meet-Up Group

The Teen Autism Meet Up Group meets monthly from September – November and January - May.  It is open to Teens ages 13 – 17 and is designed to facilitate new friendships among teens on the autism spectrum.  Events may include a baseball outing, bowling, movies, dinners, and much more! These events are free or low cost to teens and one parent, who is required to accompany them to all Teen Autism Meet Up events.

Testimonials

“We have been blessed with so many wonderful people beginning at 17 months of age, through my son's diagnosis and still continuing today at almost 6 years of age. You do wonderful things for our families and our community. I will always be grateful for everything you do and for all the wonderful people who make everything possible.”

“I had the opportunity to speak for Autism York as an Advocate! They made a poster for the event! I enjoyed speaking for them and would do it again! It was my best speech so far! They’ve been wonderful in every way before and after! I’ll always support this organization as an Advocate and native Pennsylvanian!”
