The Board Members of Autism York are all volunteers who dedicate their time to create a much needed support network in our local autism community.

Board Members

JULIE RASMUSON - President/Operations & Outreach Coordinator

Julie Rasmuson is the mother of two boys, the one of whom is autistic. Julie serves as the Vice President of Autism York.  She also works in the local community as an education consultant and employment specialist for individuals with disabilities. Julie enjoys volunteering as a part of this non-profit organization and being an ally to our autism community.

IAN SCHOLES - Treasurer

Ian is an Audit Associate with Reinsel Kuntz and Lesher. He graduated from Saint Joseph's University in 2022 with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. He is the oldest of three siblings, and he enjoys spending time with family and friends. He also loves to listen to music, run, and play soccer. He is very excited and grateful for the opportunity to become an ally within the Autism York community!

DENISE ROMARY - Special Events Coordinator

Denise is currently a Regional Director of Children and Family Services at Merakey. She has worked in behavioral health services for 23 years. Denise holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology. She loves spending time with her husband, traveling especially to the beach and eating ice cream. Denise is excited to join the team and become part of the bigger picture by giving back to the community and participating in a well-established local organization.

AMANDA SPALLA - Special Events Coordinator

Amanda is the proud mother of two children, her youngest is on the autism spectrum. She has a passion for music and enjoys her position as Box Office Manager at the Appell Center for the Performing Arts. She loves spending time with her family, tackling do-it-yourself projects and attending classes at Penn State York. Amanda is excited to connect with other families in our autism community and the opportunity to volunteer for such an incredible organization.

KYLE DUNLAP - Teen Group Coordinator

Kyle is currently a Learning Support teacher with the Hempfield School District. He has been working with students with various disabilities in autistic support and emotional support classrooms for the past 9 years. Kyle holds a Master's Degree in Special Education with an Autism Endorsement and a BA degree in both Secondary Education Social Studies and History. Kyle is coordinator of the Autism York Teen Meet Up Group.

COURTNEY KUNKEL - Fundraising

Courtney is a mom to 3 boys, the oldest of whom is on the spectrum. She is also part of a very big blended family, and is a stepmom to 3 other kiddos - 2 girls and a boy. Courtney works in the financial field and loves her job in Electronic Banking. In her spare time, Courtney enjoys candle making, reading, meditating, hiking, and spending time with her family. She’s excited to connect and support other families in our autism community and for the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing organization.

Our Staff

BRANDI SNYDER – Program Manager

Brandi has joined the Autism York team full time. She is the mother of three children, and she enjoys having dance parties with them. Brandi enjoys having game nights with her extended family and friends, as well as line dancing, listening to music, crafting, and even wedding planning as a hobby job. She is very enthusiastic about joining the Autism York community!

MICHAEL SAXMANN – Adult Meet-Up Group Coordinator

Michael volunteers his time to plan, organize, and lead our monthly Adult Meet-Up Group.
